Keswick Street Theatre Players was formed in 1996. We are an informal group of historically costumed ‘actors’ who entertain the public during a short evening’s guided walk around the centre of Keswick. Led by the Town Cryer in full regalia, the Players perform specially scripted scenes involving colourful characters from Keswick’s past including: Beatrix Potter, George and Ashley Abraham, Peter Crosthwaite, Sir John Banks, Queen Victoria, Black Jack, Canon Rawnsley, Daniel Hechstetter, Lady Jane Ratcliffe, Sir Percy Hope and others. The easy walk commences at the Moot Hall at 7:30 pm each Tuesday and lasts around 90 minutes. The 'season' runs from end-May to early-July each year. The Players also undertake guest appearances at other functions by arrangement.
