I came across this book quite by accident (- or inspiration) in Ilkley's Oxfam shop last weekend and it's format, insights and teachings have held me ever since. The Power of Kabbalah by Yehuda Berg seeks to provide a simple and accessible guide to some of the profound truths of the Kabbalah - part of the ancient sacred text known as the Zohar. Whilst the Kabbalah is regarded as a Jewish mystical source, this book makes little reference to Judaism, God or any specific faith. This all great mystical teaching it sheds light on our role and function in this world and our place within the universe.
The book uses some really helpful analogies to illustrate the mystical teachings. It demonstrates the unity with much scientific thinking, including the big bang and quantum physics. And it explores some of the fundamental questions of all times: what is the mind?; why do wars persist?; what are we?; how can we get more in touch with our true selves?; what transforms our lives? These questions are covered in many books. What distinguishes this one is the ease of presentation, the use of accessible images, and the mystical interpretations offered.
